Can you add Tumblr to the addon? Images like .tumblr.com/image/34324421313

There’s something you can fix to make your awesome addon even better: ‘image-rendering: optimizeQuality’ CSS property used in thumbnailZoom’s chrome/skin/all/overlay.css produces bad results in recent FF 25 for downscaling, here’s the demo: http://www.maxrev.de/html/image-scaling.html

The default value is ‘auto’ is actually a good choice since it supposedly chooses ‘optimizeQuality’ when upscaling and, what’s more important, it doesn’t distort small details when downscaling large pictures with text.

It might be a good idea to allow choosing the scaling quality/type in the addon’s options, because some people apparently prefer ‘-moz-crisp-edges’: http://www.ghacks.net/2013/03/11/disable-firefoxs-image-smoothing-algorithm/

Thanks, that’s great info. I had read through the very long bugzilla entry about the resizing improvements made in Firefox v19 (or so), but didn’t find this info. It’s ironic that “optimizeQuality” makes it look *worse* .

I develop primary on the mac, and even with the current settings I don’t see the quality problem. But I’ve heard that results are platform-dependent. Which operating system are you on?

Have you tried removing TZP’s image-rendering property, and did that solve the problem? If so, I’m happy to make the change, even though it doesn’t seem to make a difference on my machine.

I’ve just released I’ve just released version 2.7beta1, which removes the image-rendering property. I don’t notice a difference in my mac, but could you try it and tell me if it helps?
