Thumbnail Zoom Plus 2.0.0beta2 fixes Facebook, adds redbox.com

Changes in 2.0.0beta2 since 2.0.0beta1:

  • Fixed Facebook pop-ups problem for certain pictures in Timeline view
  • Added redbox.com
  • Fixed Facebook and Netflix pop-up positioning to avoid covering the site’s own pop-up better when page zoom is not 100%.

may i suggest to add support for more image sites (e.g. imagevenue.com) and in general for thumbnailed galleries? A similar extension, Thumbnail Expander, used to work on almost all sites, but has not been updated since FF 8, so i guess it’s been discontinued.

Also, I think that the ability to set a fixed size for the previews would be very useful, since the previews can be quite annoying in case of big images (they tend to cover a portion too big of the screen). Note that I’m not using the last version right now, so feel free to ignore my comment if these features have been introduced in the meantime.

Thanks for your message. Please do suggest whatever sites you’d find useful. I just investigated imagevenue.com and unfortunately it’s not easily supported in the current version of thumbnailzoomplus since I can’t determine the full-size image’s URL from a thumb’s URL or from the URL of its linked page.

Re limiting size, did you know that you can set the max zoom % with the + and – keys while the image is displayed, and make it the default by pressing ‘d’? That’s not quite what you ask for since it’s relative rather than absolute, but maybe it’d help?

I could add an absolute limit if other people agree that it’s useful, but I’m not sure if it’s worth complicating things with yet another preference. I’ll see if other people suggest such a feature.

BTW, turning off pref “Show pictures using all available space” (hotkey ‘a’) may help too since the popup’s size will be reduced enough to keep it from covering the thumb.

It is marked incompatible with Firefox 13.

Do you mean 13 or 16? It’s marked as compatible with up to 15.0a1, though it may not be tagged for 16.0a1 Nightly build which recently went live. I’ve tested and it does work with 16, and the next beta will be marked compatible with 16.
